Synchronised invisibilty

I’ve been sitting in the kitchen having an early lunch/late breakfast watching the birds on the lawn eating the nuts and seeds I sprinkle about for them. Twelve little sparrows and a pair of doves hopping about and looking very pleased with themselves.

As I took a photograph, all the birds engaged their cloaking devices so not a single feather is visible. Synchronised invisiblity has no doubt evolved over many generations and is a pretty amazing skill.

Somehow, my train of thought (which I can’t follow backwards so have no idea how I got to this) led me to thinking about where we live and how size doesn’t matter but home does.
